Favorite Teas for Beauty & Wellness

After attending a beautiful backyard tea party last night (can you think of a better way to spend the last evening in June?!), I feel inspired to tell you about some of my favorite teas with wonderful beauty & health benefits. They’re delicious year-round,  iced or hot.

SoCal Cleanse Organic Detox Tea in Hibiscus

Complementary minty and sweet herbs in this caffeine-free tea make it both sweet and refreshing.  Its health benefits are courtesy of ingredients like  dandelion root, yarrow, bilberries, calendula and peony root that work hard to detoxify your body while providing antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Benefits of sipping it can include increased energy, weight loss, an immune system boost and even diminished cellulite! Another cool fact: these tea labels are made from discarded quarry rocks! How’s that for green?

The Republic of Tea Be Well Red Tea in  Get Growing

Tea that strengthens your hair and bones? Count me in! The Republic of Tea’s Get Growing tea contains horsetail, oatstraw, nettles and silica to encourage hair, nail and bone strength- all of this in a yummy lemon/mint red tea blend. It’s delicious brewed hot and then served cold over ice. Also caffeine-free.

Organic India Tulsi Tea in Sweet Rose

Call me a romantic, but I cannot resist rose tea.  The tulsi (also called holy basil) in this tea is a powerhouse ayurvedic herb that decreases inflammation associated with aging and disease.  It’s also an adaptogen, meaning it helps the body deal with stress that can otherwise compromise our adrenal function and make us tired! I love tulsi for its distinct herbal flavor (and the vitamins A and C, iron, zinc and calcium). Caffeine-free.

One more tidbit to share: the best part of last night’s tea party might have been the lavender simple syrup, homemade by the host, herself a tea expert! I can’t wait to make it for use in a special tea or an organic cocktail this summer. Check out the recipe!
